The Healey-Driscoll Administration has awarded Heading Home with $3,000,000 for a supportive housing project at 26 Lawrence Ave. in Boston. The building, a former rectory, is being rehabbed and adapted to support the needs of up to 17 formerly homeless families.

“Every investment in supportive housing is a long-term investment in the community and its residents,” said Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll. “These incredibly important projects will provide affordable housing and services for Massachusetts residents across the state.”

The grant, awarded today at a ceremony in Brockton, was among $40 million in awards intended to build upon the Healey-Driscoll Administration’s efforts to invest in housing for all income levels and to make it easier to build new housing across the state.

“Supportive housing is more than just a permanent home,” said Ed Augustus, Secretary of Housing and Livable Communities. “Today’s $40 million investment will not only help build new housing across the state, but the on-siteservices included in these developments will help residents maintain happy, healthy and independent lives.”

In 2025, the Administration has awarded $158 million to support 14 projects in 12 communities to create more than 1,100 affordable units and has awarded $18 million in housing development awards to create 288 market rate units in Gateway Cities.
