On January 30th, 2025 Heading Home proudly hosted the Changemakers Reception, an inspiring evening dedicated to celebrating individuals and organizations that have made a lasting impact in the fight to end homelessness in Eastern Massachusetts. This annual event brought together community leaders, advocates, and supporters who share a commitment to driving change and creating brighter futures for families and individuals in need.
This year’s Changemakers Reception also celebrated Heading Home’s 50-year journey of providing housing and stability to individuals and families. Since 1974, the organization has evolved from a grassroots effort into a leading force in the fight against homelessness. This milestone was a tribute to the unwavering dedication of staff, supporters, and volunteers who continue to make a lasting impact.
A Night of Reflection & Recognition
This year’s reception took place at The Newbury Boston, offering an evening of networking, storytelling, and heartfelt recognition. The Changemakers Reception honored those who demonstrated exceptional dedication and leadership in addressing homelessness, supporting Heading Home’s mission to provide housing and stability to those most vulnerable.
Honorees included:
- Phil Giffee, Heading Home Founder – Recognized for his visionary leadership in establishing Heading Home and his decades of dedication to housing solutions.
- Kim Driscoll, Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor – Honored for her unwavering commitment to addressing homelessness and supporting statewide housing initiatives.
- Joseph P. Hanley, Outgoing Heading Home Board Member – Celebrated for his years of service and impactful contributions to Heading Home’s mission.
These Changemakers exemplified the spirit of Heading Home’s mission, using their platforms, resources, and leadership to uplift those in need and foster sustainable solutions to homelessness.
