Annual Meeting 2008
On Wednesday, December 10, 2009, Heading Home (formerly Shelter, Inc.) held its Annual Meeting at the Downtown Harvard Club of Boston. With approximately 200 guests in attendance the event showcased the viewing of a new dvd called "Duley House," which highlights a program of Heading Home. The meeting included the following presentations:
William E. "Bo" Holland Public Service Award presented to Lt. Governor Tim Murray and
Rep. Byron Rushing for their exemplary advocacy on behalf of the homeless in Massachusetts. The award is named after longtime public servant William E. "Bo" Holland who dedicated his life to serving the people of Greater Boston. "Lt. Governor Tim Murray and State Rep. byron Rushing are stellar champions of the homeless and have followed through on promises made regarding promoting effective ways to end homelessness in Greater Boston," said Tom Lorello, Executive Director of Heading Home. "The bright light in this difficult economy is in having partners in government and in the private sector who really support the work we are pursuing."
Community Partner Award presented to The Cambridge Housing Authority in gratitude for their creativity and for devoting critica resources for ending homelessness in Greater Boston.
Luberta Shea Award presented to David Weinberg a volunteer who truly reflects Luberta Shea's spirit of boundless compassion and devotion to meeting the needs of others.
